New Website Host Is Smart Professional And Free
I ran across this ad and, as a writer, I had to see it for myself. Typically, hosts that offer web design are bland and restrictive. As a novice designer myself, I don't have anything against the typical site design hosts. I know how difficult it can be to make a site that is user friendly while also being appealing. Wix.com has achieved this goal and it offers it for free in a stylish and smart layout.
It was very easy to setup. I initially clicked the ad to see what it was about. I was directed to select the content I wanted to present, provided with some beautiful templates and then I was done. Straight out of the wrapper I have my very own platform to prevent my featured articles, my published short stories and my creative writing ideas. I kept looking for more to have to do but there really isn't anything.
Once I was ready to edit, a short video presentation appeared and went over some of the highlights. Don't worry if you want to make revisions later. You can publish your new website and edit it, make design alterations and republish your site as often as you like. When you are done simply click publish and name your website and save. It takes about 30 seconds to load and then you have your published site.
The nicest feature, and the one that I was most impressed with was, upon going back and tinkering with the editing, I could enable a button that allowed me to actually edit my SEO settings. From here I was able to decide how the search engines would see my site, the name I wanted to appear and a brief description of my site. A keyword option at the bottom of the box allowed me to type in my own keywords to insure relevant traffic will see me. Be sure you write down your site's link address before you click "Ok".
Of course you can't expect even the best of website hosts to provide this service free without their advertising. But they do offer very reasonable rates to remove the ads or restrict with plans ranging from $30 to as low as $4 dollars. I chose to keep the ads on my site but will probably upgrade later to the budget-friendly $12.48 that provides 10 GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth and most of the premium features.
You have a button at the top to edit your page in detail if you wish and I was delighted to find that if I chose to add HTML or CSS that option was available in an easy copy/paste text box. Image uploads are simple and you can drag them anywhere on your page you want and your text automatically wraps around it.
Everything you would typically have to do for yourself is provided as an option for you to select or deselect. I can promote my site by sharing updates with friends on Facebook or Twitter, allowing them to easily subscribe to my new site.
I chose the author format and the example provided gives you a great starting point for designing your own concept. The template I chose even has a scrolling image banner that can display image files of my other works that visitors can click to review my work, or even click where to buy my books online. I highly recommend this new service, wix.com!
